Images in the fleshscape series of works
Printed on paper and laminated onto rigid plastic
Dimensions, 32ins x 42ins
In these images I use photographic evidence of the human female form
Close-up photographs of parts of the body
Images that are unrecognisable to the uninquisitive eye
They are investigations into physical orientation
Meshes are drawn up independently and used as the means of integrating the photographs
At close viewing (up to ten feet from the work) the meshes are clearly visible (see detailed views by clicking)
They appear to disrupt surface of the image
visual ruptures occur where the collisions of similar colouration of pixels occur
........................'digital spit'
However on retreating from the image this meshing disappears, goes out of focus
and a new flesh-like form - a mutation of sorts is revealed
I photograph the body - layer the body - reveal new bodies - strange bodies - impossible bodies - foreign bodies
